Eisa May 2024 Rules Update
As Eisa charges toward its ninth anniversary next month, we've gone over our Rules and Character Creation Rules pages and made a few updates. These are unlikely to affect anyone significantly, but do be aware of the follows changes:
Changes to the main Rules page:
- The section on godmodding has been updated to clarify that abuse of inappropriate powers is not necessary to constitute a violation of the rules. Asserting seriously that your character is more powerful than the setting should allow, without prior admin approval, is not allowed.
- A section has been added stating that staff can and should use circumstantial evidence (such as displaying symbols associated with hate groups on a visitor's SL profile) to prejudicially take administrative action. This doctrine is called Judging Book Covers, and is informal policy in most online communities.
Changes to the Character Creation Rules page:
- It is now explicitly stated that we do not discriminate against non-bipedal avatars, provided they comply to other sim rules.
- LL updated their ageplay policy to forbid the presence of child-like avatars into A-rated regions. This brings standard procedure into line with our extant administrative policy, so the justification for our policy has been struck out. Also, our bellwether keeps changing their SL username, so that had to be updated too.
- A section has been added clarifying that there is no onus to respect unusual avatars, in particular avatars based on copyrighted IPs. If a piece of media exists in the real world, it exists in our setting, too, so if you resemble a fictional character, your devotion to that fictional property may be seen as evidence of a disturbed mind.
