The following is a list of locations in the Better Today universe. By no means is it exhaustive; feel free to suggest new entries in the Eisa OOC group. If you're unsure of where your character is from, these are suitable places to put in the 'Port of origin' field on your immigration form.

Earth. Home to seven billion people, some two hundred countries, and dozens of space ports. Many major airports (such as Los Angeles International Airport and O'Hare International Space Port) now have shuttle service to high Earth orbit. Traditional rocket launch sites also have regular spaceflight service, including: Kennedy Space Center (aka Cape Canveral, Florida), Baikonur Cosmodrome (Kazakhstan), Wenchang Satellite Launch Center (China), Svobodny Cosmodrome (Russia), the recently-completed Vostochny Cosmodrome (Russia) and Vandenberg Air Force Base (California).

Earth's Moon. Always called "the Moon," even when it causes confusion. The name "Luna" is very rarely used. Around a million people live on the moon, mostly astronomers and Helium-3 miners. The Moon is also a popular stop for cargo transports because of its low gravity and proximity to Earth. Consequently the Moon is sometimes called the "Space Warehouse" by locals.

Javik Station. One of several structures in orbit around Eisa, this self-governing colony is under the control of its founder, Andrei Javik. The majority of its population is comprised of recreational androids, with few if any permanent female residents. Javik Station maintains geosynchronous orbit above the Gaga-Rin settlement, on the opposite side of the moon from the original Eisa Colony settlement.

Tei Tenga. This unforgiving bare-rock moon was chosen as a research outpost by the Chinese Space Agency in the early 1990s. Its distant location, close to the edge of the galaxy, made it a safe and secluded haven for experimental weapons, power technologies, and more. Like the Moon, it is tidally locked, so that one side perpetually faces its parent planet, a vast ringed gas giant called Eyun, and the other always faces out into space. Tei Tenga has two significant settlements: Tei Tenga City, on the side facing home to some two thousand scientists and their families, and Shuijiao, on the far side, which was historically a classified testing site. At the turn of the millennium, Tei Tenga's existence was declassified, and most research was relocated to new locations elsewhere. Many extremely bright physicists chose to remain behind, however, and Shuijiao became a popular destination for cosmologists. Shuijiao Research Institute is now regarded as having some of the most prestigious graduate programs on the outer rim.

Moons of Saturn: Titan, Rhea and Oberon all have orbital colonies, surface settlements, or tethered stations. Hyperion formerly possessed an O'Neill cylinder called Hyperion Colony, but this has since been landed on the surface of Titan and converted into a tower colony of the same name.

Jupiter orbit: Europa, Ganymede, Callisto, and Io all have permanent surface settlements. These are generally held to be some of the most gentrified colonies in the solar system (apart from Earth orbit) as a consequence of the remarkable view of the red giant.

Sylva: Colonized in 2007. An Earth-like planet in orbit around the star GJ 180, the original colonists of Sylva found that the surface was covered in toxic plant-like life that rendered the soil unsuitable for growing crops of terrestrial origin. They recruited the aid of a geneticist, Dr. Rose Morrow, to produce a retroviral treatment that would enable them to metabolize the local flora safely, but the colonists discovered that Morrow had abused the opportunity, and that the treatment also had cosmetic effects, leaving them below average height, slender, and with prominent pointed ears. Sylva is now ruled by a monarchy from its capital city of Landing, and Dr. Morrow remains at large.
