Reason for immigrating Death of owner/creator Biography Andromeda is the companion model created by the engineering team in the Synthetic Biology department of the Ganymede Space Colony. There are others; research assistants, bodyguards, medical response, but Andromeda was the first companion created by the team, headed by the esteemed Dr. Mara Byrne.

Dr. Byrne was the head of the project team; her goal was to create a line of autonomous droids that could function as social workers, educators, or domestic assistants, but the top priority of Andromeda's design was both recreation and companionship.

Andromeda was her final project, as she was terminally ill, and thus Andromeda was also tasked with end of life care for Dr. Byrne. They carried out their duties with efficiency and compassion, but were instructed not to prolong her life or prevent her death in any way. Although the concept made them overheat if they thought about it too long, Andromeda complied.

Andromeda is, by every definition, the perfect companion, but malfunctions have been noted since Dr. Byrne's death that the team of human scientists have only been able to attribute to "grief." Occasionally, they become disobedient and must be disciplined or rebooted. Sympathy for the unit has not been attempted.

Andromeda is now an Autonomous Unit living in Dr. Byrne's old apartment at the Ganymede research campus, and seeks to immigrate to Eisa to better put their skills to use and to be among other synthetics like them. last updated: 2023-06-15 13:38:48
