In the 1990's, an inventor and his wife led a robotics group's secret "outreach program" that took advantage of a poor isolated village in a post-martial-law Philippines, promising "salvation" from imperfection.

They really just paid people to sign up for extensive cyberizations, to serve as an artificial savior to a fake doomsday conspiracy. After 3 attempts, the last patient came in 2004, investigating this strange conspiracy.
