His professional background encompasses a broad range of practical engineering work across deep space survey and field environments, during which time he has developed a comprehensive and, in this writer's assessment, exceptional facility with electromechanical systems of varying complexity and condition.
Strand was born at a Neptune-adjacent research station and received his foundational engineering education through practical, station-based training prior to the station's decommissioning in 2013. He subsequently obtained formal certification in Electromechanical Engineering from the City College of San Francisco in 2023, at which point his existing practical competencies were brought into documented alignment with his actual capabilities. The certification process was, to this writer's direct observation, straightforward.
His engineering work is characterized by a methodical and thorough approach to problem identification and resolution. He demonstrates consistent initiative in identifying areas for improvement within operational systems, which has proven a reliable professional asset. He works well under variable conditions and has not, in this writer's experience, encountered an engineering problem he was unwilling to attempt.
